I need to write my posts on time. I get really self-conscious about my writing whenever I’m home. It’s like the easiest excuse for myself to just not do it. I don’t want anyone to see it. Basically. It’s not a good idea, it’s not smart, it’s not good for me. When I’m at school, I just don’t think about any of it, I just write. When I’m at home, when I have all this time in front of me, I can do it when I’m alone. This is not good for me.
I’m also going to continue to write in vagaries because I’m uncomfortable with specifics.
Oh man, I don’t like the direction this post is going in. So let’s turn this blog-car around. I’ve been working a lot, and it really affects my mood. Today was my first day off since I got home. I spent it hanging around, watching Mesrine: Killer Instinct, the first 15 minutes of Mesrine: Public Enemy #1. I also watched about 4 episodes of the Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job, season 5, which just came in the mail for my bro, with both seasons of Children’s Hospital. So that’s abso-lutely terrific. I started Holly Black’s Red Glove, which I can’t wait to get back to, and I finished Lisa McMann’s Cryer’s Cross yesterday. To continue my pop culture binge, I also finished Mike Birbiglia’s book Sleepwalk With Me, which I loooooooved. After I finished, I had about an hour left in work, and I couldn’t focus on anything, nor could I start another book, because I just wanted to keep reading more of his stories. It was a perfect work book. And…the other day I finished Stephen King’s The Long Walk, which was a page turner, not too scary, and very depressing. Let’s go even further, know all of my pop culture choices, live my life. I’m re-watching season 3 of Deadwood, so I can finally finish it, I stopped somewhere in the middle the first time, so I haven’t seen some episodes. I love Deadwood, and I’m rediscovering some of the actors in it, it is so difficult to choose favorite parts of that show. In my opinion though, if you’re not hooked by the end of episode 4 in season 1, then there’s something wrong. Also, it definitely has one of the best pilot’s, really representational of the series as a whole, it’s not enough to hook first time viewers, but on repeat viewings, it’s really really good television. I also love the way Timothy Olyphant as Seth Bullock walks in the series. He always looks so determined, eyes never wavering, and he stands as straight as possible. He’s a man who knows where he’s going. I’m also way too drawn in by the love story in that show, I’ve already gone on for too long, so I’ll tell the basics later. Maybe have an ode to Deadwood when I eventually finish the series.
I’ll leave that stuff as it is for now. I need to motivate myself to finish (and start) the projects I want to complete. I can’t live my life so stagnantly, so motionless. I went on a run today to try and solve that problem. I’m trying to get in better shape. Last year I tried yoga/pilates exercises for like a week in my room, but clearly I’m not motivated or flexible enough, and also my room is really small, especially when I don’t clean it. My run was also the shortest thing ever, I did a tiny loop, up and down a hill and round a circle near my house.
Tomorrow I’m nine to fiving it again, anytime I think any iteration of 9-5, I instantly get the song nine to five stuck in my head, “workin’ nine to five, what a way to make a living.” That’s also most of what I know of the song…so yeah. You’re welcome.
It’s Friday again, and I’ve pretty much run out of things to say, so I’m going to follow friday a few people on twitter.
#FF @louispeitzman he’s a very funny and intelligent freelancer, with a smart feed, I wholeheartedly recommend him, he even makes his follow friday’s funny, he picks a theme, this week it was X-Men, and aligns twitterers with certain aspects. I unfunnied that up enough, I recommend you see it to believe it.
#FF @SarahThyre another comic writer slash I don’t really know what else, she’s very good, the reason I started following her was her tweet of badhappymealtoys-Kardashcan kids. Which is epically awesome. (and I forgot to really follow friday her this week, so I’ll do it next week).
last but not least #FF @empiremagazine my favorite movie magazine in the world, home base London, UK. I love them so much, I know the names of much of their staff, and follow a bunch of them on twitter, my faves are Chris Hewitt aka videoblogisode man and james dyer aka man in LA. They’ve got all the puns and movie knowledge you need, they’re people who easily bypass my movie education, which means they’re people I love and look up to.
That’s all for now, excuse the bad grammar, and bad everything as always.
